Save As > FBX

Post by Steve L~ »

What are the requirements for saving a BIN file as a FBX - I cant seem to get FBX as a save option at all when either selecting a series of meshes or selecting the top level branch of a BIN file that contains only meshes.

I feel sure I’ve done this before !

Thanks,
daniel

Oops, I totally forgot to compile the latest 2.10.alpha version with the FBX SDK!

I've just updated the online version.

I am also trying to export FBX, but the option is not available. However, I am just trying to export point cloud and RGB (if supported). The File I/O wiki page says it should be supported. I assume that >1 means that more than one point cloud can be saved in the file? Please advise.

FBX is now back in the official 2.10 versions (online).

And FBX only supports meshes. If it's written otherwise in the documentation, then it's a mistake! (EDIT: that's fixed now, thanks for the feedback ;)

It would be fantastic if you did enable point cloud support for FBX. VFX industry standard compositing software NUKE appears to support that format for import...
