[Mesh] Sample points

Nothing happens when you specify a density for sampling points on a mesh (plane in my case). The point number version works.

The only reason why this tool won't generate any point is that the density is so low that the probability for each triangle to host a point is around 0. Can you try with a (much) greater density value?
