CANUPO - error: Not enough memory

Hi,

I'm using the Classifier I trained via CANUPO with a point cloud, and after running the CANUPO- Classify plugin, CC sends me this "error: Not enough memory" message.
It's weird because I have plenty of space on my computer's memory. Also, the point cloud doesn't seem that heavy (47, 540 662 points) and I have 48 GB of RAM.
Despite this error message, the final result of the classification (ground vs vegetation) seems right, but I'm still worried about the "not enough memory" message.

Any ideas? Maybe it's simple; I have to confess I'm quite new to CC.

Thanks!

Madeleine

Looks strange indeed! Which version are you using?

Are you able to reproduce the issue on a smaller cloud? (like a small portion of the big cloud)

If yes, would you be able to share it with me (along with the .prm file)? (to admin[at]cloudcompare.org)

Is there a way to calculate the max size of point clouds (would file format influence this?) based on the amount of RAM? What is the suggested workflow with very large point clouds (e.g. >600 million points)... tile the point cloud?

Hi Daniel,

I'm using CloudCompare v2.13 alpha [64 bit].

Yes, if I use a smaller part of my point cloud, the same issue happens.
On the other hand, I have another classifier (with less class) that works very fine with the smallest cloud, but shows the same "not enough memory" issue with the larger one.

I will send you the files at admin@cloudcompare.org.
