Video Card Reccomendation

Drawing on the wealth of experience in this group.
If you had up to $1500 dollars to spend on a workstation video card, what would you recommend?
Main role of this machine is point cloud processing.

Leica Cyclone Register
Faro Scene
etc.
Machine has 64 GB RAM at present.
One workstation we have Nvidia Quadro P4000 which performs pretty well, but is a little old nowadays.
I would love any feedback.
