Need help selecting points behind objects for point cloud alignment

Hi guys !

I am having a little problem. I have 3 rooms I need to register or align together, they all share sight lines etc.
the problem I am having is that because these are rooms with 4 walls and a ceiling, I am unable to pick the point I need to pick.

I thought that by using the segmentation tools or sections I would be able to get to where I need. But the issue is that if sections all 3 rooms to be able to pick point or features on the floor for example, then I am aligning the sectioned point clouds and not the entire dataset.

Can someone please help me with this workflow?
Thank you

You should switch the 3D view to 'perspective' mode and zoom 'inside' the room. The 'user-based' perspective should be the best option as it behaves as if you were waling inside the room.

Daniel, so there is no way to currently hide a portion of the cloud?
Your suggestion may, but not ideal and would take a lot of moving around ?

You can also play (still in perspective mode) with the 'zNear' distance (see the Camera parameters). This will move forward or backward a virtual 'cutting plane' in front of the camera. This way you may manage to achieve what you are doing without moving the camera too much?

something like that just hides a portion of the cloud would be useful - without really breaking it up into two clouds.
