Vertex cluster selection

Hello,
I'm currently using CloudCompare for segmenting/annotating point clouds with different class labels. I'm happy with the segmentation tools, but often times it is hard to segment complex overlapping objects with the polygon tool. Therefore it would be handy to have something like the "Select Vertex Clusters" tool in MeshLab - a "brush"-like function to select nearby points. So my question is:
1) Is there a similar function in CC I could use for segmentation purposes?
2) If not - is it planned to implement such function?
