(Load) Cant`t guess file format: unhandled file extension `rdbx`

Post by hha116 »

I have got an pointcloud from a groundbased lidar, that is in a RDBX format. When I try to uppload the file I get this message:

(Load) Cant`t guess file format: unhandled file extension `rdbx`

I`m using Windows 10 enterprise, 64-bit operating system. What can i do?

Which version of CloudCompare are you using? And can you check if you have a 'rdblib.dll' file next to CloudCompare's executable?

I have the cloudcompare v.2.7.0 (64 bit). But can not find the `rdblib.dll`. Should it be inside the folder of CC?

Nope, in this case you just have to update to a more recent version ;). The 2.9 or 2.10.alpha.

Rdbx was not supported in the 2.7

One more question:

I will use the point cloud (rdbx file) for structural analyzes in coltop3d afterwards, were I need the format ascii text file (xyz intensity or rgb columns). When saving the pointcloud in CC I can choose the format: ASCII cloud (*.txt *. asc*. neu*. xyz*. pts*.csv).

After saving I only get an txt.file, but is this txt.file containing the other formats as well? or do I have to convert the file another way to get the xyz or rgb?

Not sure to understand: the txt file on output should contain X, Y, Z and R, G, B columns if the cloud has colors). Or do you want to know if you can change the extension of the file ? (if yes, then yes you can)

One last question:

After subsampling the pointcloud in CC, the coordinates is negative? Can this be a result of subsampling ?

Nope, the 'subsample' tool only selects some particular points of the cloud, it doesn't displace them.
