Render "Snapshot" from Command Line

Post by CanadaRunner »

Hi,

is there a way to render snapshots (like "render to file") via a command line argument?
Or even better, is it possible by setting up cameras and then render the image of their view to files?

I try to automate the process of taking images due to tons of models and several fix camera positions, which also have to be repeated several times.

thx

Nope, not in command line mode, as there's no OpenGL context created in this mode.

If you have multiple viewpoints for the same object, you could automate them with the qAnimation plugin (render at 1 fps, and output the result to single frames instead of an animation). But for multiple objects, there's no existing mechanism.
