You can use Edit>Colors>Levels and fix the histogram min max to 0 to 255.

Nothing as great as yours for now, probably cause the scans I use are already well colored enough. But I might be running a new test this afternoon on a cloud with darker parts. Will post if the results are interesting.

Question for Daniel: in order to automate the process, is there a way to get the max and min value of a SF with the command line version? And export the rgb values as SF? I cannot find anything in the wiki for now :)

Here is the result of the project I was talking about

As you can see, some points have "funny" color because Cyclone couldn't give it a true color, so it gives a "pastel" color which is higly enhanced by your method. But for the main part of the cloud, it worked pretty well on this project.

Can you show us the cloud before applying the filter?

You're right Daniel, I made a quick report yesterday cause I was kinda in a hurry. Now some more detailed images

First about the condition those scans were made: very changing sun exposition, some stations are cloudy, others pretty bright, and as the scans were full (360°) there are some part that were made against the sun light. All those parameters created some bad exposition/coloring, as we can notice in the first image but the method smoothen them, the only thing is that it made the crops at the bottom part quite darker than expected.

On the 2 others we can see the 2 parts I exposed yesterday:
- Very dark parts at the beginning and way clearer thanks to this method
- The "uncolored" points have very unnatural colors

Nice, so you are getting some good results.

Daniel maybe this method could be implemented in CC, couldnt it? XD
