Re: Ruler or Tape Measure
So you don't see the ruler at the bottom left part of the 3D window? It should be there (as it is a default feature of CC) but I heard that it doesn't draw with some graphic card (for instance Intel's). What is your configuration? (OS and graphic card)

Re: Transparency?
Indeed, there's no mean to do that right now. However, this would be very simple, so I think I'll add this feature in the next release.

Re: Various little bugs in the latest version
Ah, sorry for the inconvenience (it is a typical "over-bug": when correcting the first one, I created a new one!).
The online version has been updated (same filename, as I'm a bit lazy).

Re: Bugs when loading files in the latest version
So it appears it was an issue with scalar fields loading! This has been fixed in the last version (12-13-2011).
By the way, I've updated color ramp type and number of steps, so that it is now handled per-scalar field and not per-cloud as before.
Thanks again for the feedback!

Re: Bugs when loading files in the latest version
Hum, so strange. I don't have this kind of issue on my side. This is topically a problem that occurs when you switch from Solaris to Windows for instance (but of course, it is not your case!).
Can you send me one of the (small) buggy file?

Re: Logarithmic scale for scalars + normal visualization
Hi again Dimitri,
- oups, I forgot this color ramp issue, I'll fix it in the next release...
- the latest version has a 'logarithmic color scale' option. It's a very early version, I wait for your comments.
- for the normals, well, it may take more time ;).

Re: Crash on various operation with very large clouds
I've released a new version today (11 dec. 2012) that should fix this issue (and various others!). It is also possible to apply subsampling algorithms in command line mode (wiki: http://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/in ... ommandLine).

Re: Crash on various operation with very large clouds
Ok Dimitri, here are some news: indeed there was a general limitation due to the extensive use of a standard structure (std::vector) that seems to be limited (at least on Windows) around ~20 M. values. As we were using it very often, it explains that a lot of algorithms couldn't handle much more poi...

Re: ALS Registration
Hello, the ICP algorithm is meant to finely register two roughly registered dataset. So make sure that your dataset are already roughly registered (you can use the graphical transformation tool - the red arrows next to the scissors icon). Also, if the clouds are too flat/smooth, they may "slide...
