Re: Mesh exports appear to be sliced

Your coordinates are probably too long for Meshlab to handle. Try to set the Global shift to X=0 and Y=0 and resave the OBJ file.

Re: Auto-pick rotation center

I just want to let you know that I figured out what caused the issue with the rotation center. I noticed it only happened on clouds with a point amount >10 M, and when I unchecked the box "When moved, decimate clouds over" in the Display settings, the rotation center started updating norma...

Re: Auto-pick rotation center

Yes, those tools work just fine. It seems that the Auto-pick pivot ball "snaps" to the right X and Y coordinate, but the Z is way of (not updating).

Re: Auto-pick rotation center

I am using the 2.13 Beta (Sep 24) version on a Windows 11 machine.
I would say that this problem started to appear sometime in late spring (I usually use the latest CC version). At that time I also change computer and Windows from 10 to 11.

Auto-pick rotation center

Hello, Has something happened to the auto-pick rotation center tool? I find it very hard to orbit my models now days. The rotation pivot ball set itself is in most of the times very far away from the actual model. Sometimes not even double clicking a rotation center seems to move the pivot ball to t...

Re: Exporting as .txt file, formatting

Hi,
By lines I assume you mean columns. Basically you have to get rid of all other information than coordinates from the cloud. So just clear (Edit menu) the normals, color and all scalar fields from the cloud. After that simply save the file in txt-format.

Re: How do I apply RGB data to a cloud?

Hello, One way to do it is to load the image file as a cloud with the Ellipse marking plugin. Then remove the colors (RGB) from the target cloud and move the image cloud in vertical direction to overlap the target cloud. After that, select both clouds and use Edit|Colors|Interpolate from an other en...

Number of neighbors

Hi, I don't know if this topic has been discussed previously, but I have a question about the tool Geometric features|Number of neighbors. It seems that the algorithm never outputs value 0 in the scalar field. In cases where the search distance is less than the distance to the closest points, one wo...

Re: Subsample a point cloud along the X&Y axis only

Hi, If I understood your question right here follows one way how to do it: 1. Export the z coordinate values to a scalar field (Edit|Scalar field|Export coordinate to SF) 2. Flatten your point cloud via Edit|Multiply/scale and set scale (x) and (y) to 1 and scale (z) to 0 3. Run subsampling 4. Expor...
