Whiskers-lines-Vector Field

Dear Daniel, The request may be helpful for mostly cross sectional view to figure the whiskers (lines) between reference data set and the compared points (term from Geomagic Software). Or it's been called as vector field. The idea, if possible to define point indices which point compared each other ...

Re: About cloud points

hi,

it is kind of interpolation procedure. AFAIK, cloud compare does not have this functionality.

you can look for 2D fitting algorithms or in CC cross sectional contouring for measuring.

Point Projection onto Fitted Plane

Dear Daniel, I would like to know is there a way to project point cloud onto plane which is fitted from these points? I am using different tools for this task to fit 3D circle. The main idea is a projection of points onto planar surface, it is a plane which fitted from point clouds and second task i...

Re: Registration error in M3C2 tab

Hi, it depends on your both point cloud quality. Reg = sqrt(sigmapcloud1^2+sigmapcloud2^2). It is important for significant or not significant movement decision after comparison. You can read paper about M3c2.
Cheers

Coordinate Edition

Dear Daniel,

I would like to add constant value or substract value to Z coordinates of all points .

For instance, I would like to edit my Z coordinates shift -10 cm.

How can I do this?

Thanks in advance.

Re: smoothing and adjusting set of point cloud

You can try SOR (Statistical outlier removal) before MLS algorithm that would improve the quality of the surface.
