Re: jumpy/unreponsive interface mac oS

Seems to behave almost as expected if I use a mouse mouse rather than trackpad or pen so that's fine.

thanks again.

jumpy/unreponsive interface mac oS

Sorry if this is elswhere, i've not spotted it. For a long time I've had an issue with the mac (currently mohave), and 2.10.2 where the interface buttons don't always activate on click (they'll 'press' but not function) and drawing lines or the like will leap when I complete the line (making segment...

Re: auto-trace polyline from linear point cloud

I should really rename the topic, but a friend pointed me to this that looks just the ticket: will try and come back to this at a later date, but for now... Re: import polyline as continuous line - not segments

Thanks,

You're probably right about blender and the dxf, the exporter plugin does come with some warnings

import polyline as continuous line - not segments

Hi, I'm not 100% this is a bug, but whenever I try and import a polyline saved as OBJ of DXF from another program (Blender just now) they come in as hundreds of tiny segments rather than 1 polyline. I've tried every iteration of export settings I can find but no change. CC also is happy writing such...

Re: auto-trace polyline from linear point cloud

If it's useful to anyone else some of it can be done with blender. It won't suit everyone's needs and it depends greatly the shape of the object and the density of the cloud for example but loosely you do this. Use the section tool for a rough line along your object and extract slices tools->batch e...

Re: auto-trace polyline from linear point cloud

No worries and thanks!

Is there a way to script CloudCompare simply or would it require creating a plugin or some such? (not that I'm likely to get round to it, but maybe one day)

auto-trace polyline from linear point cloud

Specific aim Auto-create a polyline (to be used in profile extraction) from a simple set of points that mark the centre of this would-be line. General aim I want to extract some profile sections along the length of curved cylindrical shape that are perpendicular to the length of the object. Current ...
