Re: Merge file list in batch

Do you have a screen capture of the console output? The merge cloud should be automatically saved by default.

Re: complex cloud 2 mesh

Level 17 for PSR is already gigantic, so it's not a surprise that it fails above this level ;)

But the result is definitely not what I would have expected! Are the normals properly oriented? They seem to be a bit randomly oriented. How did you compute them exactly?

Re: Merge file list in batch

Indeed, this is clearly not supported by the command line mode. You would need to be able to expand the list of filenames as a string first and then insert it in the command line (I just don't know if it's possible ;). You need something that generates the command like this: CloudCompare -o file1 -o...

Re: Merge obj file into only one

There's only a MERGE_CLOUDS command, no MERGE_MESHES command... We'll have to add it to the command line mode. Not sure when it can be done though.

Re: Artefacts in deformation analysis

Interesting pattern!

Are the coordinate very big maybe? (and you didn't apply the Global Shift?). Otherwise it may be due to artifacts in the scanning process, but it's generally not 'regular' so it's clearly confusing...

Can you share the clouds with me?

Re: Computer configuration for high density Cloud Points

Wow, it's clear that such a big cloud is huge, especially at display time. I don't think the graphic card can contain all the points, therefore you won' t get the benefit of the full GPU acceleration... Normally the LOD mechanism should help you, but you need to wait for it to be computed and it may...

Re: CMake Errors

Hum, hard to tell with only this view. Are you only 'compiling' the CloudCompare projet or are you trying to run it here? Looking at the error, I would say that compilation is ok, but it fails to run? If that's the case, then you must actually compile the 'INSTALL' project and then run the installed...

Re: Align two clouds and preserve correct elevations

Normally, if one of your cloud is already correctly positioned, then it should be used as 'reference', and you should only move the other cloud. Either manually indeed, or with the Point-pair alignment tool, or the Fine registration (ICP) tool. See http://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/index.php?titl...

Re: M3C2 Distance Direction

M3C2 outputs signed distances. And they are calculated along the direction of the normal (for each point). The '+Z' option is just to help CC orients the normals (here they will all roughly point upward). If you want purely vertical normals / displacement, then you have to select the 'vertical' opti...

Re: Malfomed File

Hum, that's strange. Especially since STL files are only able to store coordinates on 32 bits, therefore if there are indeed points with big coordinates, the precision is already lost... Anyway, I don't think the error has anything to do with the Global Shift mechanism. Can you try to say 'no' to th...
