here's what I see when importing. For some reason I don't have an issue when opening up this point cloud in Quick Terrain Modeler.

Re: Cloud Point showing up as a straight line

Hello, I'm not exactly sure what type of files you are using, but to give you a hint, I have encountered this type of issue before with files where the X, Y, and Z columns were not properly aligned. Make sure that the XYZ coordinates are correctly pointing to the appropriate columns in the table. T...

daniel wrote: Mon Apr 22, 2024 12:23 pm Also, a classical issue is if the points are expressed in a 'geographical' coordinate system with X and Y being angles, and Z being in meters (i.e. with a totally different scale). CC expects all 3 dimensions to be the same.
Thank you. How can I check or edit this upon import?

Poisson Surface Reconstruction Vs Rasterizing

Hello, I am trying to understand the difference between using the poisson reconstruction tool and the raster tool. I have generated two separate point clouds (ground and non-ground points) using the CSF filter and my goal is to create a bare earth model using the ground only point cloud points. Whic...

Exporting as ESRI ACII Z Grid

Hello,

Is there anyway to export my rasterized point cloud as an ESRI ACII Z Grid text file? It has the format of the attached screenshot.

Thanks.

Re: M3C2 Plugin

Well just an idea, 1. Export the two cloud Z coordinate to SF 2. Flatten the two cloud by setting Z coord to zero (create a new SF with static zero, then set coordinate from sf 3. Interpolate one of the cloud Z sf to the other one ( do not overwrite original. 4. Interpolate one of the cloud Z SF fr...

Cloud Point showing up as a straight line

Hello,

For some reason when loading this point cloud file it shows up as a straight line, I can zoom in and out, but I don't see the full extent of the cloud.

Re: M3C2 Plugin

Not really... You can definitely set the camera to look from the top (with orthographic projection), and you'll still see the colors and optionally the color scale to the right... but not in a fancy way like your example. Thank you! I have successfully been able to create a M3C2 point cloud for my ...

Re: M3C2 Plugin

So the 'Visible' option (and all color scale options as well) are in the cloud properties (on the left side, below the DB tree, once a cloud is highlighted. And you can create an absolute color scale, with labels, etc. with the 'Color scales manager' : https://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/index.ph...

Re: M3C2 Plugin

I don't see an option for 'visible' anywhere, however I think I can see the difference now, not sure what changed. I also see these white circles that are spaced out evenly throughout. Also, how can I get the scale legend to populate? Thanks.
