ICP zoom

This is a small thing, but I find it annoying. Maybe I'm the only one ;) Each time the alignment is finished, the app resets zoom to show the whole scene. And that makes comparing results before/after quite difficult while working wit large objects. Would it be easy to add an option (similar to 3-po...

Re: Computer Build Question

Since not all operations are multithreaded, I would guess that i9-9900K or i9-10900K might bring better overall performance than i9-9980XE due to higher single core speed. When it comes to GPU, if I recall correctly, TI versions have slightly higher performance on top of more VRAM, but I'm not 100% ...

Re: ICP Registration across ~15 meshes

Thanks for the suggestion! I found one using a tool called 'Point Cloud Library'. In the bottom of the page, 'Globally Consistent Registration of Multiple Point Clouds': https://prs.igp.ethz.ch/research/completed_projects/automatic_registration_of_point_clouds.html Seems like a ready to use setup, b...

Re: ICP Registration across ~15 meshes

I'm searching for an automatic multiple clouds registration since a few days, and I only found some commercial (unfortunately very expensive) apps offering such functionality. I would happily spend some money donating development of CloudCompare if that could help implementing this feature. Do you g...

daniel wrote: Wed Apr 03, 2019 8:21 pm Nope. That's not availabe through the command line for now (someone would need to instrument the command line mode code to do that).
Hey Daniel,
Are there any plans on implementing this feature? It might be very handy in some cases.

Re: fine registration in lumpy places

I'm struggling with similar task, and I'm wondering if it would be beneficial to use some scalar fields as weights (planarity, density, PCA2, etc) in this case?
Or in general, does it make sense to use any of the available geometric features SFs as weights for registration?
